Komedia is an innovative arts and entertainment organization. The company is a producer of live entertainment and runs award-winning mid-scale venues in Brighton and Edinburgh.

Komedia Brighton
Komedia has a highly successful Brighton-based cabaret and theatre venue, which celebrated it's 10th anniversary in 2004. Open 363 days a year and programming up to five shows a day, in 2003 alone Komedia promoted more than 700 live events and welcomed audiences of up to 150,000 people. Komedia won the Arts Council England's Best Family Friendly Theatre in the South East Award in 2002 and the Chortle Best Comedy Venue in the South in 2002, 2003 and 2004. www.komedia.co.uk

Komedia Entertainment
Komedia operates a management and production arm which represents emerging and established talent. Komedia Entertainment has produced numerous five star and Perrier Award nominated Edinburgh Fringe shows together with national and international tours. The company is also an accredited supplier and is producing live comedy series for Radio 4 from its Brighton based venue alongside music and comedy CD and DVD releases.

Komedia Edinburgh
Komedia also has a high profile on Edinburgh Festival Fringe where it runs the hugely successful Aurora Nova programme at St. Stephen's. The venue produces and promotes national and international theatre and dance in partnership with Fabrik from Germany. Operating since 2001 the Aurora Nova programme has picked up a host of Awards including The Guardian Best Edinburgh Venue 2004, 8 Scotsman Fringe Firsts, the Spirit of the Fringe award, 6 Herald Archangel awards, 2 Total Theatre awards for Most Supporting Venue and the International Theatre Institute's award for Excellence in International Theatre. www.auroranova.org


Richard Daws
In 1990 whilst still a student, Richard Daws co-founded Victoria Real, an innovative media outfit which subsequently became one of the UK's fastest growing private companies. The company was ranked Number 1 in the Real Business/Dun & Bradstreet Hot 100 and 4th in the Sunday Times Fast Track (fastest growing private companies 1997-2002).

Victoria Real won a string of industry awards, Daws personally picking up the Emmy Award for Outstanding Editing in LA in 1998 and the Vision Vote Award (Who Owns the Future of TV) at the Edinburgh Television Festival. As Chairman of Victoria Real he initiated the now award-winning Australian operation, together with the UK's first MSc in Digital TV with the University of Brighton.
In 2000, the Victoria Real founders partnered the company with international production giant Endemol, leading to their eventual sale of the UK company. Daws retained ownership of Victoria Real Australia and subsequently partnered with Komedia in a variety of ventures.
